DOSHISYA KYOTANABE CHAPEL was published in Architecture Australia MAR/ APR 2016 Issue.

DOSHISYA has been published in Detail : Magazine for Architects and Engineers, Issue 207 2016 – JAN.

This issue features “Details of sound environment conceived from sound absorption”. I have always felt the acoustic of a space contributes greatly to the class of that space (imagine high end hotel lobby or art gallery with echoey sound..hmm…). Acoustic is most definitely an attribute under valued in the current visual-driven architectural design environment.

DOSHISYA has been published in Shinkenchiku Issue 7 2015.

It is an honour to be part of the 90 years anniversary edition for the long-running publication, which pretty much documented architecture history of Japan.

DOSHISYA has been published in Global Architecture (GA) Japan.

It is humbling to be included in an high profile publication alongside names like Herzog de Meuron, Kazuyo Sejima, Hiroshi Naito, and many more.. It is also humbling to know that our project is no longer “ours” but it now belongs to the world of architecture, open for criticism and appreciation – so I deeply wish.

Interestingly SNEAKEROLOGY is still constantly requested by press after the years!

It is published this time by Index Book from Barcelona, Spain as one of the “…projects that represent the forefront of retail design”.

I sometimes wonder what defines Architecture.

At this moment, for me, it is about “timelessness”.

Maybe Sneakerology is on its way to becoming Architecture…

Facet Studio has been included in Shanghai’s Designer & Designing magazine (Issue 65) as one of the practices of outstanding young architects.

Multiple projects have been covered, including: STREETOLOGY , BLU CREATIVITY , WATERMOON , M HOUSE

The interview was named “Meaningful Design in a Logical Way”, which I thought was apt for our approach and the Chinese translation was true to the original. Overall, happy with the article.

And I must say it is flattering to know that people that far away are interested to hear about what we think of design and philosophies.

indesign issue 53 2013

Interesting coverage by Indesign magazine Issue 53….

We were seated alongside other designers for a photoshoot, I mean, us (humans) rather than our projects (architecture).

These days, images of designers are becoming more and more important, designers (as humans) need to be more recognisable. Every project we take on are journeys of faith between the designers and the clients, being recognisable sometimes provide clients with more confidence…

Before we proceed onto the projects, we often found that we need to find common ground with clients in our values, thinkings, morales and philosophies.. i.e. as humans, as “comrades”in the project.

Anyhow, it was certainly an interesting experience to be covered by press as humans!
